As we all know Ice Factor is much more than just an ice hockey program. It is about learning how to be a good person and a good teammate. It doesn't matter which team it is: Ice hockey, school or family. The same values still work.
One person who has demonstrated these values since he started in the Ice Factor Program as a year 10 student is Ambrose Foster. Ambrose always had the drive to be a great hockey player but was sometimes lacking a bit of hard work. During his time in Ice Factor Ambrose started showing some great leadership skills. After finishing in the program as a player we invited Ambrose back as a staff member to help and mentor up and coming players. Since starting in the position Ambrose has been a great asset for the program.
Phil McIntosh on the otherhand is a very different case. Phill started in the Ice Factor with the Bowden Brompton Purple Reign in 2010. Phil was not what you called a model student, he liked to skip school and get in to a bit of trouble. It took a bit longer for Phil to find his rhythm in the Ice Factor but once he did, he has been amazing. Phil grew a burning desire to play ice hockey and is now realising his dream with the South Australian ice hockey leagues. Phil is also sharing his passion for ice hockey with the current Ice Factor students as he has become another one of our former player, current mentor.
